RIP Billy Mays. The world has lost a great (pitch)man.
For many years I have idolized Billy Mays, and had on my bucket list to shake his hand, and have him pitch me something to my face. Now my life will never be complete.

I have seen The Dark Knight. It was awesome. And I have also seen Twilight. So I guess you are refering to a minority and not a majority.waiiiit wait wait wait….don’t tell me twilight won best movie over the dark knight?! this is what i DON’T like about people’s choice for movies. I’m not bashing twilight at all, i enjoyed it. but i don’t see it anywhere near the calibur (i know i can’t spell) of the dark knight. again…not bashing twilight or it’s fans…i just dislike that people choose movies they just enjoyed over what movie was actually cinematically detailed and significant. Unless it was an award for most enjoyed movie. then twilight can win all it wants. i know there are more twilight fans than batman fans. again, not bashing twilight. i don’t want anyone getting mad at this post. i’m going to be a film studies minor—i look more in detail into the movies than just what was entertaining. though, most of my problems with the film are specific problems i have with the book—so i guess as a rendition of a novel, it was quite successful…i’d love to rant about these two movies and compare them in depth, and maybe when i have the time i’ll write a paper about it for fun…but i’m off. toodles.
Here is how I feel about it…
I assume you guys are talking about the MTV movie awards. First and foremost, the problem I see with this is that it is… well it is MTV. The people who participated in/ ran the event WOULD like Twilight more then the Dark Knight, despite [as michelle said] The Dark Knight being more cinematically groundbreaking and defining. I have never seen twilight, but anyone who knows anything about something would know that the Dark Knight can never be touched by Twilight in terms of movie quality unless you ask a very specific, and targeted group of people, such as MTV did.
Twilight would never had stand a chance if this was applied to a more realistic and broad audience, not one that consists of 95% Of 12-16 year old girls who are infatuated with the book. A worthy and notable adaptation of a highly popular book? Yes. Cinematic masterpiece like The Dark Knight, one that would forever define and shape the movie industry / genre ? Not in your wildest dreams.
I do not mean to offend Twilight fans, however lets be honest with ourselves now, and give appropriate credit, where credit is due.
awe thanks greg :D i loves youuuu
